Job summary

City of Santa Maria seeks a Maintenance Worker I/II to perform a wide range of street and facilities maintenance tasks and operate light to heavy equipment. The role supports the Streets Section of the Public Works Department in keeping roadways safe and well-maintained.

The ideal candidate possesses some experience in maintenance, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work with a team to complete diverse tasks and projects for the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in street or facility maintenance is preferred.
• Valid Class B Driver's License may be required within 26 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks including operation of light or heavy equipment.
• Assist in asphalt and concrete repair, curb and sidewalk maintenance, and street striping.
• Maintain safe and clean streets, operate equipment, and support public works projects.
