Job summary

City of Muskogee seeks Streets Maintenance Worker II to perform unskilled to semiskilled tasks on streets, buildings, and grounds. The role involves operating light to medium construction equipment and various tools, with duties spanning repairs, mowing, painting, and basic maintenance.

This safety-sensitive position requires the ability to work outdoors, travel to city locations, and comply with ADA accommodations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required, with one year of experience as a trades helper or maintenance laborer in construction/maintenance trades.
• Good knowledge of manual labor work practices, tools and materials; understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to read and write; operate various mechanical tools and power equipment; communicate courteously with coworkers and the public.
• Skill in operating light to heavy automotive equipment and pertinent power tools.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and replaces manholes, cleans, repairs and replaces sewer lines.
• Operates hand and power tools including jack hammer and air compressor.
• Operates light to medium equipment such as rodder, suction pumps, tractors and loaders.
• Paints, patches streets, and maintains grounds and signs as needed.
• Assist skilled repairmen in plumbing repairs and minor building/equipment repairs.
• Must report to work regularly and on time.
