Job summary

City of Muskogee is seeking a Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker II to perform semi-skilled tasks in maintenance and renovation of City facilities, parks and grounds. Responsibilities include operating lawn care equipment, applying pesticides, and assisting in repairs of park infrastructure.

The role requires the ability to work outdoors, lift and carry loads, follow safety procedures, and report to work regularly. Valid Oklahoma driver’s license is required; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• One year of experience as a trades helper or maintenance laborer in construction/maintenance trades, preferably with light to medium equipment.
• Good knowledge of manual labor work practices and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Operate push mower, riding mower and weed trimmer.
• Maintain park areas; keep restrooms and common areas clean.
• Repair and maintain City parks, pools, fences, equipment and irrigation systems.
• Participate in special events set-up.
• Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
