City of North Myrtle Beach seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to lead daily operations and supervise crews in street and drainage projects. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, asphalt repairs, concrete work, and roadway construction tasks.

Must hold a high school diploma or GED with 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience and a CDL. The role requires on-site work with on-call availability and strict safety adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience operating light to heavy equipment.
• CDL certification required.

Responsabilités

• Supervises daily assigned Heavy Equipment Operator(s), Motor Equipment Operator(s), and Trades Worker(s).
• Maintains records for monthly reports and files.
• Ensures equipment is maintained for proper operation.
• Oversees asphalt repairs and pothole patching.
• Performs and supervises pipe placement and road construction tasks.
• Operates paver, vactor trucks, backhoes, loader, and other heavy equipment.
• Performs additional duties like laying bricks and road maintenance.
• Enforces department safety rules for subordinates.
• Prepares daily/weekly reports and time/vehicle logs.
• Receives and reviews drawings, work orders, and complaints.
