Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Streetlight Technician for an entry-level role that offers paid on-the-job training and a full-time, non-exempt schedule. The position is outdoors, with provided PPE and tools.

Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining streetlights, operating bucket trucks and related equipment, and logging work plans while adhering to safety protocols. No prior experience required; HS diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Weather permitting, this is a 40-hour-per-week job. Overtime and weekend hours may be required.
• Knowledge of power delivery and an ability to identify power delivery components.
• Operate heavy equipment on and off the road safely.

Responsibilities

• Performs work from aerial devices to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment.
• Operate heavy and light construction equipment such as digger derrick trucks, bucket trucks, backhoes, air compressors, generators, and all hand tools associated with the scope of work.
• Maneuver construction equipment safely during all functions of work.
• Excavate ground areas for setting of poles or foundations.
• Keep accurate logs of the job process and stay organized.
• Work closely with locating companies to identify underground hazards.
• Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and as-builts; execute the plan accurately.
• Maintain good relationships with traffic control and utility partners.
• Keep open communication with management about job functions.
• Work safely near energized and hazardous equipment.
• Collaborate with first responders for emergency jobs such as knockdowns.
