Job summary

Asplundh Careers is seeking a Streetlight Technician to join our outdoor utility team. This entry-level role offers paid on-the-job training and a clear path to skilled streetlight maintenance.

You will repair and maintain streetlights and related equipment, manage assignments, and operate a range of vehicles and tools while following safety protocols; indoor offices are not involved. Candidates should be prepared for outdoor work and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be proficient with voltmeter, power tools, and hand tools.
• Weather permitting, this is a 40-hour-per-week job; overtime and weekend hours may be required.
• Knowledge of power delivery and ability to identify power delivery components.
• Operate heavy equipment on and off the road safely.

Responsibilities

• Performs work from aerial devices to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment.
• Must be familiar with underground fault locating and repair.
• Must have experience in repairing secondary and Feed wire.
• Operate heavy and light construction equipment such as digger derrick trucks, bucket trucks, backhoes, air compressors, generators, and all hand tools.
• Maintain logs of the job process and coordinate with locating companies to identify underground hazards.
• Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints; execute plans accurately.
