Job summary

The Street & Utility Supervisor leads the City of McHenry's Street & Utility Division, coordinating maintenance of rights of way, infrastructure, underground utilities and city property. The supervisor oversees division staff and snow and ice control operations, schedules work, and ensures safe, efficient performance.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in street maintenance and utility construction techniques.
• Knowledge of MS Office, GIS and other software essential to operations.
• Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and assign tasks to crew members.
• Ensure safety requirements and proper gear are used.
• Oversee sewer, water, storm sewer maintenance and repairs.
• Coordinate and supervise snow and ice removal operations.
• Prepare and manage work orders and reports.
• Interact with Chamber of Commerce and business owners for special projects.
