Job summary

The City of Brainerd is seeking a Maintenance I to perform semi-skilled work and operate equipment in the maintenance, repair, and replacement of the City’s street and storm drainage facilities and systems. The Maintenance I shall report to the Street & Sewer Foreman.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, at least one year of relevant experience, a Minnesota Class B CDL with tanker endorsement (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and OSHA training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of maintenance or construction experience in street or sewer.
• Valid MN Class B CDL with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Complete and maintain OSHA required training.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on streets and sewers: patching, hauling materials, and cleaning basins.
• Operate equipment such as Vactor truck, jackhammer, and other tools.
• Respond to sewer backups and emergencies, including after hours.
• Mow grass, trim trees, and haul materials as needed.
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance on city buildings and equipment.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends, as required.
