Job summary

The City of Brainerd is seeking a Maintenance I to perform a range of semi-skilled tasks and operate equipment for street and storm drainage maintenance. You will report to the Street & Sewer Foreman and handle duties from hauling asphalt to patching streets.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a Minnesota Class B CDL with tanker endorsement (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and OSHA training. Open until 4:30 PM on Sept 15, 2026.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year maintenance or construction experience in street/sewer field.
• Valid Minnesota Class B CDL with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Complete and maintain OSHA required training.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on streets and sewers, drive Vactor truck, patch streets, and perform related sign work.
• Haul materials, operate tools/equipment, and assist in installing pipes and repairing sewers.
• Respond to sewer backups or emergencies and perform basic repairs to City buildings/equipment.
