Job summary

The City of Brainerd seeks a Maintenance I to perform semi-skilled work and operate equipment for streets and storm drainage systems. You will report to the Street & Sewer Foreman and may drive the Vactor truck, perform patching, flushing, televising sewers, and basic maintenance on vehicles and shop areas.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of maintenance or construction experience in street or sewer work, and a valid Minnesota Class B CDL with tanker

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on streets and sewers, including hauling asphalt and materials.
• Operate a variety of tools and equipment (mowers, trucks, woodchipper, etc.).
• Patch streets, paint crosswalks, curb repairs, and sign work.
• Assist in installing pipe and repairing sewer lines and manholes.
• Respond to sewer backups and emergencies as needed.
• Maintain city buildings and shop areas.
