Job summary

City of Lawrenceville, GA is seeking a street maintenance worker to participate in the repair and upkeep of city streets and drainage systems. You will perform laboring tasks and operate equipment to keep roadways safe and functional.

No prior experience is required; you must have or obtain a valid Georgia driver's license, CDL preferred. Work outdoors in various weather; contribute to well-maintained streets and public spaces.

Complexity/ Scope of Work

• The work consists of related maintenance duties. Inclement weather and heavy traffic contributes to the complexity of the position.
• The purpose of this position is to participate in the maintenance and repair of city streets and infrastructure. Successful performance contributes to safe and well-maintained streets.

Physical Demands/ Work Environment

• The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
• The work is performed in an office or outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to noise, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• No Experience required.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
