The Town of Clayton is seeking applicants for a Street Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Streets Operations Department. The Town employs over 340 full-time staff across various departments including police, fire, and utilities, and offers part-time positions in parks, recreation, library, and cultural arts.

Employees perform semi-skilled and unskilled manual labor tasks under supervision, including construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, storm drains, and traffic signs. Tasks involve driving trucks, operating equipment, pouring concrete, installing storm drains, and assisting in minor repairs. Work involves hazards such as noise, mechanical parts, dust, fumes, and weather extremes. Work is supervised and reviewed for compliance with standards.
Qualifications include knowledge of standard practices, safety, concrete/masonry, traffic safety, and skill in operating equipment. Ability to follow instructions, work effectively with others, and complete records is required.
Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED; experience in concrete or asphalt work preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
