Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED is desirable, supplemented by related vocational courses.
• Four years of progressively responsible public works construction and maintenance experience, including two years in supervision.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff performing maintenance, construction, and repair of streets and sewers.
• Coordinate and supervise street sweeping, repairs, and related activities.
• Inspect work progress and quality; prepare estimates and workload forecasts.
• Instruct staff in work methods and safety; ensure safety standards.
• Prepare reports and assist in budget estimates.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

Education

Public works experience (4 years, 2 in supervisory)

California driver license
