Job summary

City of Sacramento seeks a Street Maintenance Supervisor to lay out, assign, supervise, and participate in street construction and maintenance activities. You will coordinate with contractors and City crews and ensure timely completion of projects.

The role requires planning, estimating materials, directing heavy equipment operators, and maintaining detailed records. You will lead safety briefings, train staff, and address citizen inquiries to ensure quality work and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in street construction and maintenance.
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid California driver license (see special qualifications).

Responsibilities

• Lay out, assign, supervise, direct, and participate in varied street construction and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate work of outside contractors and City crews and prepare reports.
• Estimate quantities and order materials and equipment.
• Direct operators of heavy equipment and inspect paving contracts.
• Maintain records of work time, equipment, and materials.
• Conduct safety meetings and train subordinates.
• Respond to citizen complaints.
