Job summary

Block by Block in Washington, DC is hiring for a unionized street maintenance role. Pay is $21.00 per hour with first shift hours, Monday through Friday, from 5:00am to 1:45pm. Responsibilities include cleaning sidewalks, operating cleaning equipment, and engaging with pedestrians to provide directions and information.

Required is a valid driver's license; CPR is a preferred certification. Medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and a 401K are offered as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• CPR preferred.
• Union job with union benefits.

Responsibilities

• Manual and/or mechanical cleaning in assigned zone using equipment to vacuum, wash sidewalks and power wash district sidewalks.
• Observe and report on safety, crime and activity and communicate with Safety Ambassadors.
• Provide hospitality and directions to pedestrians and city information as needed.
• Produce daily written reports of tasks completed and incidents.
• Maintain professionalism in accordance with Block by Block standards.
