Job summary

The City of Cullman is seeking a skilled equipment operator to support municipal street and infrastructure projects. Under general supervision, you will operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks, perform inspections, and assist with maintenance.

You will perform routine street maintenance, assist with drainage, concrete forms, and respond to emergencies, with after-hours and on-call work as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama driver’s license and Class A CDL.
• Minimum of three years experience operating listed equipment.
• Experience in construction or street maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, graders, bulldozers, loaders, dump trucks and other listed machinery.
• Performs routine street maintenance such as pothole patching, road grading, debris removal, and shoulder repairs.
• Assists with drainage, concrete forming, and installation of signs, markings, and barricades.
• Responds to emergencies; works after hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call as required.
