Job summary

The City of Saint Paul is seeking an Engineer Technician Supervisor in the Street Engineering and Construction Division of the Public Works Department. This role supervises technical and administrative staff and handles planning, design, inspection, and project coordination for public works facilities.

The position oversees sidewalk permits, ADA compliance, contract administration, and construction specifications, with a strong emphasis on leadership and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Thirty semester credits toward an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
• Two years of experience as a PW Technician III or equivalent.
• Experience drafting, inspecting public infrastructure and reviewing permits.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead and train technical and administrative staff in sidewalks, street engineering and construction.
• Administer and oversee sidewalk permits and licensing processes.
• Manage sidewalk complaint program, software and related processes.
• Oversee infrastructure and construction software use and updates.
• Administer ADA compliance as part of sidewalk programs.
• Oversee ordinance and right-of-way permits, plan reviews and construction completion.
