Job summary

The City of Saint Paul Public Works is hiring multiple Public Works Technician III positions across Sewer, Traffic Operations, Land Survey, Street Construction Inspection, and ADA SEC divisions. The roles involve a mix of field and office-based technical work with responsibilities in inspecting, data management, and coordinating with contractors and the public.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience as an engineering technician, including inspecting and drafting public works projects.
• 24 post-secondary technical credits with 3 years of engineering technician experience.
• Must possess Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect sewer, street, and survey projects for compliance with plans and standards.
• Provide technical assistance to engineers in planning and design of sewer and street projects.
• Perform construction observation and field inspections for public works projects.
• Manage GIS, CAD, and asset data; prepare data products and analyses.
• Coordinate with contractors, utilities, and the public; facilitate meetings and reporting.
