Job summary

Traversal is seeking a Strategy & Operations professional for our New York office. You will partner on high-priority cross-functional initiatives—from pricing and packaging to closing complex deals—and own projects end-to-end with minimal oversight.

You’ll build financial and operational models, track execution against the annual plan, and act as a thought partner to executives. This is a generalist role in a fast-moving startup environment in NYC.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or private equity.
• 1–2 years in an operating role at an early-stage startup.
• Track record of owning ambiguous, cross-functional projects end-to-end.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High ownership mentality with bias toward action.
• Generalist mindset: willingness to work across pricing, deals, planning, and other business needs.

Responsibilities

• Own cross-functional strategic projects end-to-end—scoping, analysis, and implementation with Sales, Product, Finance, and Engineering as needed.
• Help get complex deals to the finish line—support structuring, approvals, and cross-functional coordination to clear blockers.
• Own key parts of the annual operating plan process: track progress, flag risks, and help leadership course-correct.
• Build financial and operating models to support decision-making across the business.
• Build scalable, AI-native systems to streamline workflows and distribute insights.
• Act as a thought partner to executives on ambiguous, high-stakes problems—bring structure and a point of view.
