Job summary

Intertrend seeks a Strategy Director to lead and mentor a 3-4 person strategy team, owning pre-creative insights, briefs and success metrics for major accounts. You will partner with Creative, Media, Account and Production to shape high-impact work.

You should bring 8+ years in agency strategy, with senior leadership experience, and a track record of coaching strategists and growing business. A strong POV and comfort with AI-assisted research are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in agency advertising strategy, including 3+ years managing a team.
• Strong fundamentals in research, insight, brand positioning, creative briefs and communications planning.
• Comfort with metrics, statistics and measurement; able to read tracking studies and prove results.
• Experience on large national clients.
• Creative approach with a clear point of view and confidence to present to senior clients.
• Record of coaching strategists and growing agency business.
• Hands-on use of AI tools in research and planning, and the judgment to know where they fall short.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and grow a team of 3-4 strategists through assignments, reviews and examples.
• Own overall client strategy on our largest accounts, including automotive.
• Write briefs that inspire award-winning work and present them to senior clients with conviction.
• Build measurement from day one: set objectives, define KPIs and demonstrate impact.
• Bring provocative points of view to clients and internal teams.
• Identify and shape projects with award potential.
• Protect and grow client relationships and help win new business.
