A leading defense contractor is seeking a Strategy and Business Development Senior Manager to spearhead initiatives in submarine systems. The role involves strategic planning, business development, and collaboration with key stakeholders to drive growth in the defense sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the U.S. Navy submarine communities, a strong background in business development, and the ability to foster innovation and efficiency. This position is home-based in Virginia, with some travel required.
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a passionate, experienced Strategy and Business Development Senior Manager (SBDSM) for our Progeny Systems business area. This portfolio includes submarine sonar, combat, cybersecurity, electronic warfare, and mission readiness systems primarily serving the US Navy and DoD prime contractors.
The SBDSM will lead the formulation of strategy and business development activities for Progeny Systems initiatives at GDMS, including cultivating key U.S. Government and international customers, developing and leading capture teams for new programs and business ventures, managing the allocated annual investment funds, and leading the development of long-range strategic plans. The SBDSM reports to the Progeny Systems Strategy and Business Development Director (SBDD) in the Maritime & Strategic Systems (M&SS) Line of Business. They will support Business Segment Directors and collaborate with business developers in other M&SS Undersea business areas. Proven, relevant industry, operational, and/or acquisition experience with the US Navy submarine communities is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus at least 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
Clearance Requirements: Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at hire. Applicants will undergo a U.S. Government security investigation and must be eligible for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed.
