Strategist Intermediate

The Strategist position is responsible for supporting Seed Production and Innovation leadership with the planning and organization of business strategy, priorities, and goals. This role will engage with multiple stakeholders to plan and implement strategic cross-functional initiatives. While working closely with leadership, the ideal candidate will not only manage business processes, but also actively influence strategic intent.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Strategist, are to:

• Develop scope, manage, and drive complex workflows to enable decision making and execute strategic initiatives in an international and cross-functional setting.
• Communicate complex strategies clearly to diverse audiences in an unbiased, factual manner.
• Derive actionable insights and holistic outcomes from complex information to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
• Develop and analyze scenarios for strategic planning and assess the financial impacts in collaboration with additional stakeholders.
• Incorporate competitors and industry trends into strategic planning to identify opportunities and threats.
• Foster innovation and drive new ideas to maintain a competitive edge.
• Identify and manage by influencing key stakeholders, gathering and interpreting their insights to inform strategy.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships and networks.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Possess strong analytical skills and high ability to think strategically and analytically.
• Experience in planning, developing, and facilitating global strategic projects cross-functionally in a complex highly matrixed environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through change management practices.
• Demonstrated project management experience with outstanding track record of delivering results.
• Working knowledge and understanding of Crop Science business/environment.
• Have a basic foundation of core business principles including financial metrics, marketing, and planning.
• Proven record in advancing initiatives through strategic communication to senior decision makers.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic initiatives, with experience in long-term planning as an advantage.
• Ability to derive actionable insights from complex information and competitors & industry trends.
• Ability to work under high pressure with tight timelines in a regularly changing and often ambiguous environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop collaborative relationships.
• Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to communicate complex strategies clearly and effectively.
• Lead by example to motivate and guide self-managing teams.
• Possess knowledge of the agricultural industry.
• Fully professional proficient in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD.
• 5-7 years experience.
