Job summary

State of Louisiana is seeking a Workforce Development Specialist to coordinate employment services statewide. The role supports job seekers and employers through assessment, career guidance, and program referrals within an integrated service delivery model.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in workforce development or related fields, with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Location is statewide; opportunities will be allocated across parishes and require collaboration with

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR six years of full-time experience in any field; OR a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Provides a full range of employment-related services to job seekers across multiple workforce programs, including assessment, career exploration, and job search assistance, referrals, and placement activities.
• Interviews job seekers to identify and evaluate occupational interests, knowledge, skills, abilities, and barriers to employment to determine services and placement opportunities.
• Analyzes work experience, education, personal characteristics and other relevant factors to determine placement.
• Assists in addressing barriers to employment by coordinating barrier-reduction services including transportation, childcare, and services addressing emotional or behavioral challenges.
