Job summary

KBR in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a Workforce & Community Partnerships Manager to lead workforce development and stakeholder engagement for a major capital project. You will build and sustain partnerships with educational institutions, workforce boards, and community organizations to develop talent pipelines for skilled trades, engineers, and operations roles.

The role focuses on coordinating local hiring, internships, apprenticeships, and community outreach while monitoring labor market

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Business, Community Development, Political Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in workforce development, community relations, government affairs, stakeholder engagement, external affairs, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting large capital projects.
• Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement, workforce planning, and public-sector collaboration.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups, including government officials, community leaders, educational institutions, and workforce partners.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Familiarity with EPC/EPCM project delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute workforce development strategies to support project staffing needs.
• Build partnerships with colleges, universities, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and workforce boards.
• Maintain relationships with local communities, elected officials, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and public-sector stakeholders.
• Coordinate local hiring, workforce readiness, internship, apprenticeship, and recruitment initiatives.
• Monitor labor market trends and advise leadership on staffing risks and opportunities.
• Lead community outreach, STEM initiatives, and programs to enhance project visibility.
• Support workforce diversity and inclusion efforts by expanding access to opportunities.
• Track metrics and prepare reports for project leadership.
