Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP, a premier insurance defense law firm, seeks a driven Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its defense team. The role focuses on statewide representation before the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims, handling cases from intake to resolution.

The ideal candidate has a JD, Florida Bar admission, 2+ years in workers' compensation defense or civil litigation, and a proven ability to manage a caseload independently. Travel for hearings may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage workers' compensation defense cases from intake through resolution.
• Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to requests and reviewing records.
• Defend depositions of claimants, witnesses, and experts.
• Draft, argue, and respond to evidentiary and procedural motions.
• Prepare case evaluations and status reports per client guidelines.
• Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and court appearances (travel as needed).
• Maintain accurate billing and documentation per firm standards.
• Coordinate case tasks with paralegals and staff.
• Participate in internal meetings and incorporate feedback from supervising attorneys.
