The ideal candidate has a JD, Florida Bar admission, 2+ years in workers' compensation defense or civil litigation, and a proven ability to manage a caseload independently. Travel for hearings may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare case evaluations and status reports per client guidelines.
• Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and court appearances (travel as needed).
• Maintain accurate billing and documentation per firm standards.
• Coordinate case tasks with paralegals and staff.
• Participate in internal meetings and incorporate feedback from supervising attorneys.

Summary

We are actively seeking a driven Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our highly skilled Workers' Compensation Defense Team. We are looking for a legal professional with a strong foundation in Workers' Compensation insurance defense and/or civil litigation to represent clients statewide before the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims. Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the individual may provide indirect guidance or task coordination to legal assistants, clerical staff, or interns in connection with case preparation and defense-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Manages workers' compensation defense cases from intake through resolution.
• Conducts discovery, including drafting/responding to requests and reviewing records.
• Conducts and defends depositions of claimants, witnesses, and experts.
• Drafts, argues, and responds to evidentiary and procedural motions.
• Prepares case evaluations, analyses, and status reports per client guidelines.
• Drafts pleadings, settlement proposals, and correspondence; represents clients at hearings, mediations, and court appearances (periodic travel required).
• Maintains accurate, timely billing and documentation in accordance with firm and client standards.
• Coordinates case tasks with paralegals and support staff.
• Participates in internal meetings and incorporates feedback from supervising attorneys.

Education & Experience

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• 2+ years of combined experience in Workers' Compensation insurance defense and/or civil litigation
• A proven track record of managing a caseload independently and navigating all stages of litigation
