Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks a Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects in our North Carolina office. You will direct staff, coordinate scope, schedule, quality and budget with management, and drive project delivery from feasibility through design and construction support.

This role emphasizes strong client management, effective communication, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring regulatory permitting compliance and high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in environmental or civil engineering required.
• PE license required.
• Experience with permitting with NC DOH and DEC required.
• 8-10+ years in civil/environmental engineering with water/wastewater focus.
• AutoCAD & OpenRoads experience desired.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage clients and develop new business.
• Design experience with water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Strong knowledge of permitting requirements for water/wastewater projects.
• Ability to build a skilled water/wastewater team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assist with the design of complex multi-discipline projects.
• Coordinate sound project management with other disciplines.
• Develop work plans and labor budgets for Department Manager approval.
• Monitor schedules and budgets to satisfy client and control productivity.
• Prepare advanced engineering designs and technical data.
• Ensure quality control/quality assurance on all projects.
• Oversee work and productivity on assigned projects.
• Aim for profitability, productivity, and schedule targets.
• Support proposals and business development efforts.
• Utilize Colliers MVP tool for project cost estimates.
• Develop strong client relationships.
• Identify team, tasks, and manpower needs for projects.
• Cross-sell Colliers services where appropriate.
• Lead team meetings and ensure review/approval procedures.
