Job summary

City of Maypearl seeks a Water Treatment Division Manager to oversee the Water Treatment Plant and related facilities. You will supervise staff, monitor treatment processes and SCADA data, and coordinate maintenance projects to ensure reliable potable water delivery.

You will prepare reports and budgets, collaborate with City departments, contractors, and regulatory agencies, and meet safety and regulatory requirements in a 24/7 emergency-ready operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; college coursework in science/engineering/management preferred.
• Five years of experience operating a surface water treatment plant with at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of water treatment operations, regulatory requirements, SCADA, plant automation, and safety procedures.
• Ability to supervise staff, coordinate projects, prepare reports and budgets, and read construction plans.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License; TCEQ Class A Surface Water License or ability to obtain; available for 24-hour emergency call.

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Director of Utilities, the Water Treatment Division Manager oversees the daily operation, maintenance, staffing, safety, and regulatory compliance of the Water Treatment Plant and related facilities. This position supervises plant personnel, monitors treatment processes and SCADA data, coordinates maintenance and operational projects, manages supplies and training, prepares reports and budgets, and works with City departments, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of potable water.

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework in science, engineering, or management preferred.
Five (5) years of experience operating a surface water treatment plant, including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Working knowledge of water treatment operations, maintenance, regulatory requirements, SCADA systems, plant automation, and safety procedures.
Ability to supervise employees, coordinate projects, prepare reports and budgets, and interpret construction plans.
Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
TCEQ Class “A” Surface Water License required, or ability to obtain within the timeframe established by the department.
Must be available for 24-hour emergency call.
