Job summary

American Ordnance seeks a strategic Program Director to oversee warhead development and manufacturing programs under multiple DoD contracts. You will lead cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain to meet cost, schedule and technical goals, while serving as the primary liaison to government stakeholders and owning program P&L.

You will drive risk management, modernization, business development, and revenue growth, coordinating with Proposals on RFP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years experience in US Government contracting.
• Knowledge of military explosives required.
• Extensive knowledge of Ammunition/Missile warhead systems required.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/tech data.
• Ability to secure secret clearance required.
• Must possess a REAL ID‑compliant driver's license or current passport.
• Positive attitude and collaboration with team essential.
• Background screening is mandated for all candidates.

Responsibilities

• Oversee integrated teams to meet cost, schedule and technical objectives; drive risk management and modernization initiatives.
• Serve as primary customer liaison to communicate status and resolve issues affecting contracts.
• Build and nurture client relationships; drive revenue growth by identifying new opportunities; oversee plans and budgets; manage program P&L.
• Coordinate with Proposals Group on responses to RFPs and customer requests to secure future opportunities; lead business development for legacy items.
• Lead production core teams to ensure resource availability; drive efficiency and continuous improvement across programs.
• Lead innovative initiatives by identifying new technologies and prototyping with cross-functional partners.
