Job summary

Granada Theatre, part of the Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts, is seeking a strategic, people-centered Vice President of Stage Production & Operations to lead Stage Production, Front of House, Hospitality, and Building Operations.

This executive will partner with the COO/CEO, manage multi-department workflows, and drive operational excellence across a historic theatre in Santa Barbara.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in live performance, theatre production, or venue ops with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading complex productions/events from advance through execution and closeout, including union environments.
• Strong budgeting, labor costing, event settlement, vendor management, and asset planning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build a high-performing, collaborative management team through coaching, delegation, and leadership development.
• Strengthen operational continuity via cross-training, backup coverage, and clearly defined decision authority for peak periods.
• Partner with the COO on event readiness, workforce planning, safety and risk, facilities, capital needs, and priorities.
• Provide operational, technical, financial, capital, performance, and risk information to support CEO fundraising, donor engagement, and Board reporting.
• Oversee day-to-day administration of applicable collective bargaining agreements and labor requirements, including staffing, scheduling, and documentation.
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures across production, Front of House, Hospitality, and building operations.
• Develop and manage annual and multi-year operating budgets and forecasts across Stage Production, Front of House, Hospitality, and Building Operations.
