Job summary

Southwest Transplant Alliance seeks a strategic, experienced senior executive to lead Community Engagement and Communications. Reporting to the Chief External Affairs Officer, this VP will set the strategic vision, oversee multi-region teams, and drive donor-family and hospital stakeholder engagement with clear, compassionate messaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field; combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 10 years in communications, public relations, community engagement, public affairs, marketing, nonprofit leadership, healthcare communications, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in organ procurement or healthcare.
• Minimum of 5 years in a mid- to senior-level leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of organ procurement and transplantation processes and regulations, including federal/state regulations and industry standards.
• Proven track record of strategic planning, operational management, cross-functional integration, and financial performance evaluation using metrics to monitor progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight to Community Engagement and Communications departments, including staffing, budgeting, performance management, and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement integrated community engagement and communications strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Mentor and develop leaders within the departments; promote a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
