Job description

Our consultants are currently seeking qualified candidates for a corporate Vice President (VP) of Corporate Communications position in Altamonte Springs, FL.

General Summary

The VP of Corporate Communications reports directly to the Senior Vice President for Strategy and Corporate Communications and is responsible for establishing the strategic framework for all the corporate communication initiatives. The position works in collaboration with Senior Operators and Strategists to direct the enterprise toward activities that will position the organization nationally for growth and high-quality care in a rapidly changing health care environment. The VP directly provides systemwide oversight to all communications across internal, external, and stakeholder. The VP will be responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of communication activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership. This position provides strategic and operational direction to the corporate communication process with key stakeholder groups: Employees, physicians, trustees, and church.

Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities
  • Recruit and manage a communications team to support the development and execution of the communications strategy.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach on a consistent basis.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments.
  • Enhance professional growth and development of self and others through development of educational curriculum/workshops, tools and strategies for growth.
  • Work proactively and independently, showing initiative and critical thinking skills, consulting with administration and seeking advice when appropriate for situations outside authority or expertise, and provide timely reports whenever requested.
  • Perform and/or review performance evaluations and take disciplinary action, as necessary.
  • Demonstrate respect for patients and maintain confidentiality.
  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan designed to clarify the organization’s mission, vision, values, and service standards among its key stakeholders, broaden awareness of its mission, vision, values and services standards, and increase visibility of its programs across relevant audiences.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant organizations.
  • Identify and secure key speaking opportunities, draft speeches, op-eds, and articles for submission to relevant publications and outlets to advance the strategic agenda.
  • Manage extraordinarily complex communications challenges and initiatives that intersect advocacy, communications, and marketing.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSURE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business or a related field
  • A minimum of 15 years’ business experience in marketing, advertising, strategic planning, communications or market research.
Education, Experience And Licensure Preferred
  • MBA, MHA or master’s degree in marketing with a health administration emphasis
