Job summary

Brooksource in Raleigh, NC seeks a Project Manager II to oversee multiple Green I/II utility projects for a Fortune 500 Energy & Utilities client. You will ensure delivery through scheduling, cost controls, and stakeholder collaboration, leveraging advanced Excel and Access skills.

The role emphasizes cross-functional coordination, risk management, and adherence to PMO standards. A strong background in utilities, data analysis, and Agile methods is required for effective project leadership.

Qualifications

• 5-9 years of project management experience, preferably in the utility industry (power distribution, transmission)
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
• Proficiency in project management principles, scheduling, and cost controls
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data management; experience with Access is a plus
• Critical thinking and ability to interpret and analyze complex Excel documents
• Experience in construction management and utility business unit operations (regulated or commercial energy services)
• Strong written and oral communication skills across organizational levels
• Demonstrated expertise in decision making, problem solving, risk management, and project leadership
• Preferred: Agile project management experience in the utility industry

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple Green I or Green II utility projects in alignment with Project Management Center of Excellence standards
• Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls using advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and Access
• Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders across all organizational levels, from individual contributors to executive management
• Apply project management methodologies, including Agile, to ensure successful project delivery within the utility sector
• Oversee risk management, project leadership, and foster strong collaboration among cross-functional teams
• Prepare, present, and maintain comprehensive project reports, documentation, and updates for leadership and stakeholders
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and resolve project issues efficiently
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, utility regulations, and company policies throughout all project phases
• Leverage knowledge of construction management and utility business unit operations as required
• Maintain advanced data management practices using Microsoft Excel and Access
