Job summary

The Lindenwood University seeks a Controller to lead the accounting operations, including financial reporting, month-end close, treasury and cash management, and compliance verification. This role oversees grants, endowments, gifts, and financial data integrity across the university.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Fiscal Affairs and Administrative Services/CFO, the Controller supervises the Assistant Controller and Manager, Accounts Payable, and guides processes for internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in accounting/finance.
• Experience with not-for-profit accounting and compliance; CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily activities of Accounting and Accounts Payable departments.
• Ensures GAAP-compliant financial reporting and close processes.
• Oversees grants, endowments, and gifts management and cash forecasting.
• Leads Workday Financials integration and continuous improvement.
• Manages banking, investments, and external audits.
