Job summary

University of Pennsylvania seeks a strategic University Bursar within SRFS to oversee over $1.4B in student accounts receivable, tuition, housing and fees, and related financial operations. This role leads budgeting, reporting, and system improvements, partnering with senior leadership to advance financial wellness and accessibility.

Reporting to the Associate VP of SRFS, the Bursar will drive policies and processes, coordinate with external vendors, and contribute to university-wide committees

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in higher education finance, student accounts, or tuition management.
• Expertise in Ellucian Banner AR, particularly with tuition and fee assessment modules.
• Strong technical proficiency in configuring and managing student financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee student billing, accounts receivable, collections, and student fees.
• Manage budgeting, financial reporting, policy development, and system improvements.
• Lead initiatives to strengthen financial operations and financial wellness for students.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative stakeholders to ensure compliant financial processes.
