Job summary

At BMO Financial Group, the Senior Manager, U.S. Tax Advisory, will lead U.S. tax planning, advisory and compliance for its U.S. tax initiatives and projects.

You will partner with the U.S. Tax Team to ensure accurate tax advice is reflected in returns and the tax provision, supporting filings and related initiatives.

The role requires CPA with extensive corporate tax experience, strong communication and leadership, and a focus on risk management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Professional designation CPA with relevant experience.
• Master's Degree in Accounting or Taxation or JD preferred or equivalent coursework.
• 8+ years of experience in corporate tax in a large firm, law firm, or large corporation, preferably in an advisory role.
• Comfort with tax research tools (RIA Checkpoint and Bloomberg Tax).
• Strong MS Office skills; experience with data visualization (Power BI).
• Experience with inbound international structures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide U.S. tax planning, advisory and compliance guidance for projects and initiatives.
• Advise on domestic and inbound international transactions and their impact on financial statements and tax filings.
• Partner with the U.S. Tax Team to reflect advice in returns and tax provisions.
• Assist with tax filing support, review and other Tax projects.
• Drive best practices and continuous improvement in U.S. tax advisory.
