Job summary

International Motors, LLC, based in Lisle, Illinois, seeks a Procurement Category Manager – Transportation to lead transportation procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management for LTL, DDS, FTL, parcel, and related logistics services. You will collaborate across logistics, finance, direct material procurement, operations, and suppliers, developing sourcing strategies and negotiating agreements.

The role partners with VW brands and TRATON to identify scale and process improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Master's degree and at least 1 year of purchasing/procurement experience.
• At least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for transportation services that align with International’s business objectives.
• Lead strategic sourcing decisions for new scope as well as current business to improve cost, service, quality, and delivery performance.
• Establish business plans with VW and TRATON to drive collaboration opportunities with sister brands.
• Research industry trends, benchmark data, carrier market conditions, rate structures, fuel surcharge trends, and underlying transportation cost drivers.
• Analyze category spend, lane data, accessorial charges, service performance, and carrier utilization to identify savings and network improvement opportunities.
• Partner with logistics, finance, operations, and procurement teams to develop budgets, validate business requirements, and support transportation planning.
• Build strong strategic partnerships with transportation suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness, on-time delivery, claims performance, capacity, and service levels meet or exceed expectations.
• Lead supplier negotiations, contract development, rate implementation, and ongoing supplier performance reviews.
• Drive compliance to International’s Sourcing Policy and VW processes.
• Focus on continuous improvement of current processes, systems, data quality, and supplier management practices.
