Job summary

Monroe County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Transportation Planner to perform advanced professional and administrative work delivering transportation planning for long-range and current planning services within the Planning and Environmental Resources Department.

The role is grant-funded and requires expertise in developing and implementing transportation strategies, coordination with cities, and preparation of reports for FDOT grant reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Urban & Regional Planning, or a related field with five (5) years minimum of prior related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Urban & Regional Planning, or a related field with seven (7) years minimum of prior related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts research and prepares data and analysis for long-range and strategic transportation-related planning projects.
• Provides quarterly reporting of transportation-related activities to the JPA project manager for FDOT grant reimbursement.
