Job summary

Johnny's Selected Seeds seeks a Transportation & Logistics Manager to oversee the movement of freight and customer parcels, optimize carriers, and manage documentation for domestic and international shipments. You will work with multiple departments to drive cost-effective solutions and data-driven initiatives.

The role reports to the Director of Operations at the Winslow Fulfillment Center and focuses on budgeting, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement in shipping operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, logistics or supply chain management.
• Familiarity with transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyze data, identify problems and develop solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with various stakeholders.
• Proficient with transportation management systems and related software.
• Strong communication of data insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to negotiate with carrier reps and service providers.
• Ability to use AI assistants and automation tools to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor timely movement and delivery of all freight and shipments domestically and internationally.
• Ensure shipping documents, declarations, invoices, and packing slips are in order.
• Audit transportation bills and ensure charges match services provided.
• Identify erroneous charges on transportation invoices.
• Research and report on transportation delays and market conditions.
• Know shipping charges presentation and methods used for fulfillment.
• Support purchasing with routing guides and shipping compliance for PO imports/exports.
• Resolve issues in transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports, or customer concerns.
