Job summary

CARIAN is seeking a Transmission Portfolio Engineer to support the development, planning, and management of a major electric utility's transmission capital investments. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, planning, and project execution, collaborating with planning organizations, sponsors, and engineers to build an integrated long-range portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in electric utility engineering, transmission planning, or related technical environment.
• Working knowledge of electric transmission infrastructure including lines and substations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the long-range transmission capital portfolio with utility planning organizations and sponsors.
• Support multi-year capital investment plans for transmission assets.
• Coordinate with sponsors to define project scope, timing, and investment requirements.
• Review engineering estimates and project changes for portfolio alignment.
• Contribute to regulatory filings and capital investment documentation.
• Provide analyses and portfolio summaries to support decision-making.
