Job summary

CARIAN is seeking a Transmission Portfolio Engineer to support the development, planning, and management of a major electric utility's transmission capital investment portfolio. You will collaborate with planning organizations, sponsors, engineers, and project managers to create an integrated long-range outlook.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years of electric utility engineering, transmission planning, or portfolio management experience.
• Knowledge of electric transmission infrastructure and ability to translate needs into project requirements.
• Strong planning, analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long-range transmission capital portfolio with planning teams.
• Coordinate multi-year capital investment plans for lines, substations, and telecom.
• Evaluate projects for feasibility, timing, budget, and dependencies.
• Identify optimization opportunities to improve portfolio execution.
• Support budget planning and funding alignment with stakeholders.
• Review estimates, change requests, and scheduling impacts.
