Job summary

NITA seeks a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to lead finance, treasury, budgeting, and long-term funding strategies for the regional transit system across CTA, Metra, and Pace. Under the Executive Director, you will shape policy, oversee a multi-year financial plan, and drive system-wide transformation while guiding staff and partners through change.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, Operations Research, Operations Analysis or related field.
• MBA/MPA/MPA preferred for senior leadership.
• Ten+ years of related government/public finance experience; supervisory/management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, financial planning, accounting, treasury operations and capital project oversight.
• Direct cash and debt management, investments, payables, and payroll functions.
• Oversee financial statements, audits and external reporting; ensure timeliness and accuracy.
• Coordinate with Service Boards (CTA, Metra, Pace) and staff to implement debt strategies and capital plans.
• Develop Ten-Year Financial Plan with cross-board collaboration.
• Serve as Trustee for NITA Pension Plan and manage related governance duties.
