Job summary

The Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA) is seeking a Director of Planning and Performance to lead the Capital Programming and Planning department. The role reports to the Chief Transition Officer and directs the Planning team to support regional transit planning, data analytics, and collaboration with CTA, Metra, Pace, and partners.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s in Planning or related field, 10+ years in transit planning, and at least 5 years of supervisory experience, with strong

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Planning, Public Administration, Engineering or Operations Research or related field.
• More than ten years of transit or transportation planning experience required.
• At least five years of supervisory/management experience required.
• Experience in metropolitan transportation planning environments and capital programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and performance within Capital Programming and Planning.
• Coordinate with CTA/Metra/Pace and other partners to advance regional transit planning.
• Develop and implement planning tools and models.
• Lead regional planning studies and capital programs.
• Manage data services and analytics for planning activities.
