Job summary

Oldcastle, a CRH company, located in Farmingdale, NJ, is seeking a Traffic Coordinator to schedule fleet and hired haul shipments for our plant and distribution yard. The role focuses on optimizing efficiency by planning backhaul loads and maximizing drivers’ hours of service.

The position requires a two-year business-related degree or equivalent experience, knowledge of DOT regulations, and strong communication, math, and computer skills. It is an on-site role based in Farmingdale, NJ.

Qualifications

• Minimum two year degree in business or related field or equivalent in experience, training or education.
• Logistics experience with knowledge of DOT regulations and scheduling of internal fleet equipment.
• Strong language, mathematical, and computer skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review open orders and delivery windows to prioritize scheduling of fleet and carriers.
• Coordinate regional shipment requests to optimize routing.
• Maintain shipping information using Oracle Transportation Management software.
• Serve as the carrier point of contact and negotiate spot rates.
• Review carrier accounts to identify issues and file claims for damage or missing product.
• Communicate delivery schedules to customers and prepare shipping documents.
• Coordinate with production and sales to expedite and trace shipments; audit driver files and DOT records.
• Additional roles as needed.
