Job summary

STRS Ohio, the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, is seeking a Third Party Risk Manager to lead the TPRM program within the Executive/Business Operations and Security team. You will oversee due diligence, assessment, monitoring and governance of strategic vendor relationships to minimize risk exposure to technology and business operations.

Key qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years in IT and third-party risk management, with experience in TPRM software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, risk management or related field is required.
• Three or more years’ information technology and third‑party risk management experience required.
• Experience with third party risk management (TPRM) software platforms and risk data analysis/reporting tools preferred.
• Knowledge of third‑party risk management frameworks, methodologies and industry best practices required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve STRS Ohio's third‑party risk management strategy, policy and procedures ensuring effective oversight of vendor relationships.
• Lead the development of pre‑contract and self‑attestation questionnaires to be completed by vendors; monitor completion and tailor content by vendor risk profile.
• Review and assess vendor contracts to ensure risk mitigation, including information security and AI/ML risk considerations.
• Facilitate risk assessments to identify and prioritize third‑party risks (subcontractor dependency, operational resilience, threats).
• Assess geopolitical, sanctions, and ownership‑structure risk in coordination with Sourcing and Legal/Compliance.
• Monitor regulatory, cybersecurity and industry developments and recommend enhancements to the TPRM program.
