Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead enterprise software development platform initiatives, employing PMI methodologies and budget oversight. This role requires hands-on leadership across multi‑vertical teams, with experience in Employee Benefits and pharmacy/medical operations.

You will drive end-to-end project delivery, coordinate internal resources and external vendors, manage scope, schedule, and costs, and report on performance using KPIs and earned value techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or Associate's degree with equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years managing technical projects with hands-on software development platform implementations or modernization
  • Proven PMI project management proficiency including budgeting, cost management, schedule control, and earned value analysis
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across multiple business domains and organizational verticals
  • Working experience in the Employee Benefits industry
  • Strong understanding of SDLC (Agile, hybrid, waterfall)
  • Ability to travel as needed to support corporate projects
  • Four (4) years experience supporting Pharmacy Management, PBM, or medical/provider operations (preferred)
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms, APIs, ETL pipelines, cloud environments (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of software development platform projects, including architecture decisions, build/buy analysis, integration planning, and production deployment
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for concurrent technical initiatives
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
  • Define project scope and objectives with stakeholders and technical leads
  • Develop and manage detailed project budgets and financial reporting
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans with milestones and dependencies
  • Manage changes to scope, schedule, and costs using PMI change control
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across departments for integrated delivery outcomes
  • Measure and report project performance using KPIs and earned value management
  • Perform risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning; escalate as needed
  • Establish relationships with third-party vendors and manage contract performance
