Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Corporate Purchaser - Contract Management to source and manage technology products and services, including software, hardware, and professional services.

You will negotiate and renew contracts, oversee procurement across the project lifecycle, and collaborate with Legal, IT, Finance, and internal teams to ensure compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 3 years direct purchasing experience; substitution allowed.
• Project purchasing experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and negotiation ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Oracle Financial R12 experience preferred.
• CPM or CPSM certification preferred; ServiceNow experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procurement documents and agreements.
• Perform commercial bid evaluations and coordinate technical evaluations.
• Prepare and enter purchase orders.
• Expedite supplier submittals to support delivery.
• Prepare front-end documents including prime flow downs.
• Source and qualify potential suppliers.
• Address procurement issues with management and stakeholders.
• Compile procurement and expediting status reports.
• Prepare equipment, materials, and subcontracts forms and reports.
• Prepare RFP documents and procurement packages to engineering specs.
• Receive, log, distribute, tabulate, and analyze proposals; make recommendations.
