Job summary

City of Overland Park is seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner to recruit, screen, interview, and recommend candidates for vacant City positions. The role coordinates pre-employment tests, extends offers, and conducts new hire orientation.

The position is onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in the Human Resources Department. Requires HR experience and knowledge of employment laws; full-time role with city benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years’ work experience in a Human Resources Department, which includes interviewing and making group presentations, or an equivalent level of experience.
• Good understanding of employment law.

Responsibilities

• Recruits candidates from internal and external sources for vacant exempt and non-exempt City positions. Prepares job postings and advertising copy.
• Screens and recommends candidates to hiring authority and ensures minimum qualifications.
• Interviews candidates by phone or in person and guides departments on hiring recommendations.
• Assists in development of recruitment programs and coordinates training events.
• Coordinates pre-employment tests (background checks, drug screens, etc.).
• Extends job offers, schedules start dates, and conducts New Hire Orientation for various employee types.
