Job summary

Berlin Packaging is seeking a Supply Planner to effectively manage the inventory planning process, with a focus on minimizing costs and optimizing inventory levels. You will analyze forecasts, coordinate PO activity, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and responsive service across our sales channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2+ years in a supply chain or related role required.
• Familiarity with inbound transportation, logistics, and inventory preferred.
• Strong work ethic, problem solving capability, and ability to learn Berlin Packaging’s business, products, customers, and suppliers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for negotiation.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize and follow up.
• Is flexible and open to change and new ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Utilize company tools to analyze, recommend, and execute inventory optimization opportunities based on historical trends and customer forecasts.
• Process purchase orders; act as a liaison between the employees of Berlin Packaging and its suppliers.
• Confirm, follow up, and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Resolve discrepancies and/or issues as they occur during the purchase order cycle.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage and schedule transportation needs.
• Support management of inter-unit stock requests and transfer entries.
• Maintain replenishment triggers to help branch optimize purchasing activities.
• Resolve discrepancies and/or issues as they occur during the PO cycle.
• Facilitate the escalation process to meet customer needs.
• Effectively manage supplier performance by assisting with quality concerns.
• Use independent judgment to identify, recommend, and execute opportunities to optimize inventories and drive cost savings.
• Partner with Logistics Coordinators to determine most cost-effective inventory movement options.
