Job summary

Rivian seeks a Staff Strategic Supply Chain Partner, Planning Excellence in Irvine, CA. You will drive global service parts supply chain performance, identify risks, optimize inventory and cost, and translate analytics into actionable decisions.

This role partners with Field Service, Service Parts Planning, SCM, Procurement Programs, Manufacturing, and Finance to quantify impact, model scenarios, develop mitigation strategies, and drive measurable performance and accountability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, strategy, supplier management, operations, analytics, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related discipline. Masters/MBA preferred
• Experience managing complex supply constraints, supplier capacity, allocation decisions, inventory optimization, or supply chain risk
• Strong understanding of end-to-end planning processes, including demand, supply, inventory, capacity, replenishment, and service-level tradeoffs
• Strong understanding of enterprise planning systems and supply chain technology, with the ability to translate business needs into analytical and system solutions.
• Strong financial acumen and the ability to quantify business impact and evaluate tradeoffs
• Experience partnering with suppliers, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams on performance reviews, escalations, capacity discussions, and recovery plans
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive measurable outcomes without direct authority
• Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex analysis into concise recommendations.
• Intermediate proficiency with data and visualization tools; experience with SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Excel, or comparable platforms preferred
• Experience with SAP, Servigistics, or comparable enterprise planning platforms is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify systemic issues, develop practical solutions, and lead implementation in ambiguous environment

Responsibilities

• Supply Chain Performance, Risk & Supplier Accountability: Identify, assess and monitor supply chain risks across suppliers, parts, geographies and logistics.
• Establish leading indicators and performance mechanisms for proactive risk identification and prevention.
• Develop robust supplier capacity and constraint analyses with cross-functional teams to identify risks and mitigation actions.
• Identify systemic bottlenecks and work cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions that improve resilience and customer fulfillment strategies.
• Inventory, Cost & Financial Performance: Quantify the financial impact of constraints and planning decisions, balance customer experience, service levels, working capital, and cost.
• Strategic Insights, Systems & Executive Decision Support: Present service supply chain impacts and tradeoffs in exec level forums to drive timely decisions.
• Collaborate with analytics to establish KPIs, dashboards, and scorecards; integrate supplier-facing systems for visibility.
• Leverage AI and analytics to identify emerging risks, model scenarios, and improve inventory allocation.
• Lead development of a global Supply Chain Control Tower for proactive decision-making.
